What do you get when you add a geometric themed wedding at an estate plus a bride wearing a leather wedding gown plus a handsome, groom with a FUN group of friends and family? The Cress-Corriher wedding!
Courtney and James, with the help of Petals Floral Design, know how to plan a top notch wedding. James’ family estate was the perfect setting for this special event. The family “labored with love” for months in advance to get the landscaping prepared. The aisle led from the house down to an area along the mature treeline where the ceremony took place. Petals decorated a beautiful pergola for their altar where they said their own vows to each other and tears were flowing! Then the cocktail hour on the back patio of the house and reception under a gorgeous tent where beautiful geometric chandeliers hung over the dance floor. The tables were covered with black linens, candles, bling, and gold geometric shapes. The dance floor was surrounded with purple couches and ghost chairs.
Best Impressions Caterers did an awesome job as usual with a delicious dinner including a fajita station. Yes, fajitas! Yum! And they ended the night with doughnut holes!
Split Second Sound knows how to keep the dance floor full! Courtney and her girls knew every word to the throwback boy bands and girl anthems, all while wearing finger lights, which we were told is a “Corriher family wedding tradition!” And we can’t forget James and his mother, Anne’s choreographed dance to end the special dances and open up the dance floor.
And on top of all the awesome details, Courtney and James are so in love! Growing up in the same church in China Grove, they reunited at a Labor Day retreat in their twenties and Clark, James’ dad, told everyone in his best man toast that he knew James had met someone special by the look on his face when he returned home from that Labor Day retreat. How cute is that!? And Casey, the maid of honor threw in the fact that she was thankful James saved her from being an old, cat lady with Courtney – a pact they had made with each other if they weren’t married by the age of 30. Ha! And everyone referenced looking forward to red headed babies and even though the newlyweds weren’t 100% on board (guessing by their expressions), we’d LOVE to photograph some red headed Corriher babies in the future!
