Attend a Colombian wedding, including a “La Hora Loca”….I can now check this one off my bucket list! Our fifth Niblock family wedding was one to be remembered!
Rebekah is the type of girl you want as your best friend. She has a heart of pure gold; you can feel it by just being around her! She loves her family, and every member of Felipe’s family. She made sure every member of her bridal party felt loved on her special day.
Rebekah and Felipe met on a dance floor, so it was only fitting that this party lasted until the wee-hours of the night with friends and family dancing to a live band! The Marcel Portilla Band was incredible. They even had myself, Karen and Maureen dancing with cameras in our hands!
Felipe is from Colombia and is fluent in both Spanish and English. As a personal touch, the ceremony vows were spoken in both languages, as were several of the speeches at the seated dinner. My heart melted just a little bit more and more with each vow spoken in both languages. If it weren’t melted enough already, my heart was a complete puddle when Rebekah and her father danced to “My Girl” sung in Spanish!!
Another Colombian touch from the wedding was “La Hora Loca” (or “crazy hour”.) Everyone was passing out crazy hats, colorful masks and bright colored maracas. A conga line formed on the dance floor and not a single person was sitting down! It was wedding reception goals!
We left this wedding with our hearts filled to the brim, our feet hurting from dancing and our hair just a little sweaty. We enjoyed every bit and hope you enjoy looking through our favorite images!!
Thank you to all the vendors who helped make this fabulous wedding happen!
